Radio Frequency Modem (RF Modem)

The RF modems are based on Micrel™ Trans-receiver chip. They are ideal for data communication with 9,600 baud rate. They operate on 300 MHz to 900 MHz range. The range is user selectable at the time of order. The power output is 10 mW and with 6 dB external antenna, they can give a straight line communication distance of 5 km.

These modems have RS 232C interface for easy connection to any PC. They are packed in less than visiting card size form factor and uses 9V DC power.

Power Line Carrier Modem (PLC)

The Power Line Carrier gives the easiest way for connecting two points. It uses existing power line to send the data. The PLC communication takes place using 52 KHz or 63 KHz FSK/Spread Spectrum principal. This is utilised over mains carrier. The modems are built using ST™ chip set.

These modems have RS 232C interface for easy connection to any PC. They are packed in less than visiting card size form factor and uses 12V DC power.

Protocol Converter (RS 232 or RS 485 mode)

Various instrument and analysers have their proprietary protocols for communication. Many a times it becomes impossible to network them. A protocol converter can convert from any protocol to standard protocol. Most commonly used are from proprietary protocol to MODBUS™ RTU protocol. The protocol converter is a customized device and can be configured for any proprietary protocol, provided the details are available. These are powerful embedded systems.

These devices has two serial ports in RS 232 or RS 485 communication mode. They work at 9,600 baud rate. They are in DIN mountable device. They work on any voltage between 9V DC to 24 V DC. (Other voltages are available on request)

Timer Converter (Di,Do & T2 to RS232)

This is a small converter which converts two digital inputs, two digital outputs and two timer inputs to serial interface. The digital inputs and timer inputs can be read using the serial port. There are two isolated digital inputs and two isolated timer inputs. One timer input is averaging timer input while other is totalising input. The averaging timer input can be configured using serial port for various averaging options. The totalising timer can be reset using the serial commands. The Digital Input status can be read on serial port as well as digital output status can be configured using serial commands.

These devices have one serial ports in RS 232 mode. They work at 9,600 baud rate. They are in DIN mountable device. They work on any voltage between 9V DC to 24 V DC. (Other voltages are available on request). The typical input needed is TTL level and the timer input can accept the frequency up-to 4 Khz. Being a Schmitt input, it can accept any waveform.

Print Format Converter (Centronics™ or RS 232)

Various instrument and analysers have their own printing report formats. They print the reports using a printer attached to the instrument or analyser. Many a times the format of these reports is not matching to the one specified by the user or government agencies.

These print format converters convert the fixed print format to any other format user is in need of. These are powerful embedded systems and they are user configurable.

SMS Gateway (GSM or CDMA mobile)

Various alarms are generated by our software. These alarms are in audio or visual format. But they are restricted only on one particular PC SMS gateway is a product which converts this alarm into Short Messaging Service (SMS) text and can be sent on various mobile numbers. The device has a memory which can store the numbers and also get the log of SMS alarms sent with date time stamp.

This device has two serial ports in RS 232 or RS 485 mode. They work at 9,600 baud rate. They are in DIN mountable device. They work on any voltage between 9V DC to 12 V DC. (Other voltages are available on request). They work on both kind of mobile phone network GSM or CDMA .

Alarm System based on Gas Leakage Detection

This product is for automobile and home use application. It detects the gas leakage for CNG (Compress Natural Gas) or LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas). The system is EURO - III compliant. Having two sensors for gas detection, full temperature compensation for the range -100C to + 850C. The gas level alarms can be displayed from 1% hazardous level to 5% of hazardous level. The home use appliance works with 90V to 320V home power supply while automobile version works with +12V DC car battery system.

Our Energy Metering Projects

Single Phase Multi-Parameter Energy Meter (Class 1)

The design is based on Cirrus Logic™; metering chip & Microchip™ PIC 16F72 Microcontroller. This is a high end meter. It complies to all the standard parameters any electricity utility company asks for. Other features include, all the tamper detection methods, all electrical measurement parameters, load survey tables, Real Time Clock (RTC), Time of the Day (TOD) metering, Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and two communication ports. These ports can be connected to a piggy back boards for Power Line Carrier Communication (PLCC) or Radio Frequency communication (RF) or Telephone communication (PSTN) or MODBUS™ communication or Optical Communication or GSM communication or Local Area Network (LAN). These piggy back circuits are based on Plug & Play technique. Therefore it is possible to alter them even in the field. This makes a very versatile meter. The circuit has been designed to match the standard electronic meter cabinet as specified by Indian Electricity Utility Companies. These circuits are made using all Surface Mount Components (SMD) and has a built in protection for all surges and various electrical conditions in India. The design complies all the standard tests certification prevailing in India.

Tri-Vector Energy Meter (Class 0.5)

The design is based on AD™ metering chip & Microchip™ PIC 18F6270 Microcontroller. This is a high end meter. It complies to all the standard parameters any electricity utility company asks for. Other features include, all the tamper detection methods, all electrical measurement parameters, load survey tables , Real Time Clock (RTC), Time of the Day (TOD) metering, Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and one Optical communication ports. The data can be downloaded to any standard Common Meter Reading Instrument (CMRI). The meter can be programmed and calibrated on production floor using a standard PC software. This makes a very versatile meter. The circuit has been designed to match the standard electronic meter cabinet as specified by Indian Electricity Utility Companies. These circuits are made using all Surface Mount Components (SMD) and has a built in protection for all surges and various electrical conditions in India. The design complies all the standard tests certification prevailing in India.

Retrofit Unit for Legacy Meter Communication

The design is based on Microchip™ PIC 12F508 Microcontroller. There are any legacy meters which are used in electrical system. The common types are Electromechanical Meter or Moving Disk Meters. There are also vast number of Static Energy Meters. These meters do not have any communication capability for Automatic Meter Reading System. When the electrical system needs to be automated, then these meters also need to be added in the network.

The retrofit unit is designed to do just that. It collects the input pulses from the optical sensor by measuring the revolution of the rotating disk, or it measures the optical LED pulses from the electronic meter. The retrofit unit then converts the pulses into the energy units and then transmits them on serial port. The meter constant that is used for this conversion is user programmable. It can be programmed using a serial port. This port can be connected to a piggy back boards for Power Line Carrier Communication (PLCC) or Radio Frequency communication (RF) or Telephone communication (PSTN) or MODBUS™ communication or Optical Communication or GSM communication or Local Area Network (LAN). These piggy back circuits are based on Plug & Play technique. Therefore it is possible to alter them even in the field. The design complies all the standard tests certification prevailing in India.

Data Concentrator for Automatic Meter Reading Network

The design is based on Embedded Microcomputer 386 design. The various meters in the network are to be read at a periodic interval with proper polling. The network can consist of a meters or retrofit unit for Legacy meters.

The data concentrator unit is designed to do just that. It collects the collected the data from various meters or the retrofit units on one serial port. It then transmits it on second serial port connected to central office of the utility company. Both These ports can be connected to a piggy back boards for Power Line Carrier Communication (PLCC) or Radio Frequency communication (RF) or Telephone communication (PSTN) or MODBUS™ communication or Optical Communication or GSM communication or Local Area Network (LAN).
